Are you looking for
something to do with the brass shells that were given to your family following
a military burial or funeral? Our craftsmen developed a beautiful and
lasting tribute that will transform the fired brass bullet shells into a polished and
personalized memory and memento to honor your loved ones sacrifice to our
country. We take great pride in honoring the service your loved one
has made for our great country and freedom. We provide this service for
families of fallen soldiers that are honored with a three-volley salute at
their funeral (not to be confused with a 21 gun salute, which is
artillery!). In most cases, the organization that provided the military
honors at the funeral service (American Legion, VFW, and other veteran
organizations) will provide the family with the empty shell casings fired during
the ceremony. You will send them in to us where we will carefully handle
them and process them to look their best. We begin by polishing them in
our media small batch tumbler until they are shiny and new looking. We
then take them to our precision engraving machine and mark them with a dark
black engraving that contrasts very well with the polished brass with your
choice of text. The result is a beautiful memento that can be distributed
to family and loved ones to forever remind them of your lost loved one, and the
ceremony honoring their life and service.
Details
Please select the number of shells you are sending in. The base service
includes up to 21 brass shells. If you have more, please select the
appropriate quantity in the drop down box, if you have more than we have listed
online, please contact us for a custom quote.
The engraving is a permanent etching on the surface of the brass
casing. We do not use additives or
abrasives, the marking is done only with the laser for one of the most precise,
high contrast black marks available. You
have seen other shells done with rotary engraving that are hard to see or read
because they don’t offer enough contrast – this is not a problem with our
method, the black engraving stands out clearly on the polished brass shells.
Engraving Details
We have provided several
examples showing different lines and text details. The more lines and
letters per line the smaller the text will be, so keep that in mind when
planning out your text. A good recommendation is Full name on the first
line, if you want you can add the rank to the name here, for the second line
the birth/death dates are what normally goes here, if the months are long,
maybe opt for common abbreviations. The last line if you do 3 lines, is
great for adding the service branch or any nicknames that you may want to
memorialize.
White Glove Service
The white glove service
is our premium service. We will call you and answer all of your questions
and walk you through the process. We also will send you a pre-paid
postage package to return the shells to us so all of the logistics are taken
care of. All you will need to do is put the shells in the provided
packaging and drop the package in your mail box, and we will handle the rest.
Additional Shells
If you did not receive
as many shells as you would like from the service, we can supplement the amount
with more shells. We will do our best to match the shells that you send
in, but we can’t guarantee it, they will either be 308 or 30-06 casings.
We will polish and engrave right along with the shells you send in, so they
will match as close as possible.
Install a Brass Key Ring
If you are wanting to
make something you can put on a key chain, this is for you. We have developed a precision process to transform the fired shell into a key ring, necklace, or anything you can imagine where you want to hang the shell. This is offered per shell, so you do
not need to do all of the shells, you can just do a handful. We have 2 options to suit your preferences:
Option A: We will drill the shell on the small end and install a brass key ring that will allow the shell to be attached to your key chain or other lanyard.
Option B: We will remove the primer on the large end of the shell and drill out the pocket and install a brass eyelet and split ring to add to a keychain or necklace.
Acrylic Shell Display Stand
Many times you may want
to honor your loved one by distributing the shells to close family members and
friends after the funeral service. We
have developed a beautiful and classy black acrylic stand that will proudly
display a single shell on a shelf, desk, curio cabinet, or any other place you
can think of. This unique stand was
designed in house to elevate the engraved shell in a way that highlights the
engraving and overall beauty of the tribute to your loved one. The stand ships flat and is easily assembled with
no tools using the directions included.
